Class #1

Date: January 27th, 2024

During this class, we had the opportunity to do an oral diagnostic test with the teacher and we did the guide #1 where we can evaluate our english level. Initially, I did my diagnostic test with the teacher, I was really nervous because I usually forgert my English knowledge when I try to speak in english with others. However, I consider that I understood almost everything the teacher told me during the dialogue and I felt safe. It was pretty interesting for me to talk with the teacher because he has a very advanced English and in this space, I was able to learn a lot from him. I consider that I should continue to improving my english skills, especially my vocabulary and listening, because it is really important and neccesary in a formal or informal conversation. Also, I am very motivated to improve my english with the tools that the teacher gave me, for instance: read news, listen to music and try to have conversations with others in english. 

Furthermore, I decided to start reading books in English as a hobby that leads to both enjoyment and a chance for me to built up my vocabulary knowledge and literacy skills in English overall. Moreover, the school where I work at has a well stocked library where I can easily borrow books. For instance, I started reading a book called "Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde" by Robert Louis Stevenson.

This story is really interesting because it talks about a man who wants to be someone else. "Have you ever wished to be someone else? Have you ever looked at someone you know and thought ´he does what he wants. Why shouldn´t I do what I want?´ Those words made me wonder what would happen if I were someone else to do bad things and nobody knew who I really was. It´s so crazy think that, and I hope discoverd what happen in the strange case of Dr. Jekyll. 

To conclude, I can say the class was very important and meaningful for me, because I recognized my english level and I knew other option to practice and improve my english. As a english teacher, is very important to me continue improving my skills in this language and I hope to take advantage of all the suggestions and tools in the class.
